Architects, Offices & Commercial, Retail, Hotel & Leisure

Commenced in early March 2013, the contract ran for 6 months and has involved the base construction (and subsequent fitting out) of a 228 sq m (2454 sq ft) single storey flat roofed showroom extension to the existing west showroom at Jacksons Garage St Peter site. The extension is open plan and designed to accommodate approximately 6 cars and sales areas, the finishes and colours being as specified by the prestige car brand Porsche. The structure comprises a tiled rc floor slab incorporating floor trunking heating around its perimeter, circular steel columns with stainless steel bracing details, exposed lattice beams and profiled metal deck supporting an insulated single ply membrane covered flat roof. Solid external walls are of rendered blockwork insulated cavity construction with PPC aluminium framed double glazed showroom windows and pedestrian entrance and car access doors, these featuring PPC aluminium briese soliel on the south and west elevations to provide solar shading. The extension also features a canopy on its north (roadside) elevation and a curved on plan PPC aluminium panel faced facia which is 3m deep x 37m long, carries Porsche signage and runs across the north elevation of the existing showroom linking the new to the old.
